Running groups

Running is so much more fun when you share it with others! Come and join the technique and efforts session or enjoy running with a group along the beautiful footpaths of Upper Wharfedale!

Run Club – A.K.A Upper Wharfedale Runners!!!

The most important thing for every running group session is for everyone to have fun.

You have lots of options to choose from, pushing yourself hard during intervals or the tempo session, or going out for a chatty social run on the beautiful trails in and around Grassington.

All abilities are welcome – we love to see new faces…and pride ourselves on being an inclusive club that never takes itself too seriously.

When and where?

We meet on Mondays (social!), Tuesdays (Intervals), Thursdays (Tempo/Trail) and Sundays (Long Social Run).

I love that it is such an inclusive club. Everyone, no matter their abilitieis, is welcome. There is no pressure to be a fast runner. The only requirement is to find ‘the joy to run’! The interval sessions are flexible enough for everyone to work to the effort that they want to. And above all, all the runners and coach (!) are super friendly

There is something about being in a group which makes you push harder than you ever would on your own. I love the variety of sessions, working on technique and then bringing it all together at the end for a team relay

8 weeks ago I hadn’t run for 21 years and I thought would collapse when Hannah told me to run for one minute , walk for 90 secs on repeat at our first training session.

Tonight I ran for 5 km, a solid 44 mins without stopping. Unbelievable! All credit goes to Hannah with her gentle encouragement , creative and stretching exercises and canny persuasion each week coaxing us a little further each time and making running such fun. Now I crave the adrenaline rush of running and miss it when I don’t go out, rain wind and all. Thank you Hannah for believing I could do this!”

I loved the couch to 5k group last year and it really helped me get fitter! I love the group of friends I have made at running now so if anyone is even thinking of getting their trainers out this is definitely the group for you!!!!

No one is ever left behind and all levels are accommodated for!!
